29.09.04. - Lathe from Sterlitamac was left in Czechia

It isn't good to take displays, meant for sale, back home, especially if an exhibition is held far beyond country borders.
There was no need for "Sterlitamac machine-tool plant" ("Sterlitamac-M.T.E.) to take its exhibit back. During International machine-building fair "MSV", hold in Czechia some days ago, the lathe with numerically programmed control "400V"has found its buyer at once. One of local enterprises has bought it along with the whole set of auxiliary instruments.
"Our lathes are more and more often demanded with a definite set of instruments"-Zulfia Hadieva, chief of external marketing dept., says-"It is profitable for our enterprise. Not long ago we've got the order for supply of large amount of instruments for lathe and milling-machine operators in Turkey. Our plant takes part practically in every international exhibition, expanding geography of its supplies and concluding new contracts".

28.09.04. - 12 Bashkir enterprises produce about 30% of Ural export

Some days ago the magazine "Expert-Ural" published the rating of Top 100 of Ural region exporters. Upon the totals of 2003 12 Bashkir enterprises were included there, including seven enterprises from fuel-energy complex, three machine-building companies, one from woodworking and one from glass industry. Their export makes up 2 billions 44 millions 935 thousands dollars and the lion's share (81%) falls on fuel-power engineering enterprises.
More than a half of Ural export falls on Bashkortostan (28,3%) and Chelyabinsk area (23,4%). Three from 12 Bashkir enterprises have entered the Top 10 of Ural exporters: "Bashneft"-2nd place, "UMPO"-fifth place, "Salavatnefteorgsintez"- 7th place. "Bashneft" has yielded just 1,5% to "Magnitogorsk metallurgical plant", which holds the first line in this rating.
High rates of export volume growth were observed at "Kumertau aviation production enterprise"-220%, "UMPO"-97%, "Salavatnefteorgsintez"-78%, "Bashneft"-66%, "Salavatsteklo"-57%. Export volumes were reduced at two Bashkir enterprises in 2003- "Ufahimprom" and "Caustic".
"Salavatnefteorgsintez" (number of supplies is 1562)-7th place, "Soda" (1489)-8th place, "Caustic"- (1300)-13th place and "Bashlesprom" (703)-20th place entered the Top 20 of the most active exporters.

28.09.04. - "Region-Leasing-Center Ltd." won investment project tender

Tender for investment projects financially supported by Bashkortostan state budget in the form of state loan via bank-agent, has just finished. Tender has been public, and its terms were announced in press. After the announcement was out in press, Uralo-Sibirskiy Bank, as bank-agent, received applications from enterprises and organizations of various fields of economy. "Region-Leasing-Center Ltd." company has been chosen the winner of the tender, tender commission reported. In accordance with terms of the tender, bank-agent is to sign a loan agreement with the winner within the shortest term.

28.09.04. - Cooperation of Bashkortostan and Switzerland

The official visit of delegation of Swiss Embassy in RF to Bashkortostan, starting today, will become the regular page of cooperation of our Republic and foreign country.
Contacts between these two partners started in March, 1994, when Bashkir delegation, headed by Minister of economics, Valentin Vlasov, visited Switzerland, Ministry of external economic relations and trade reports. The Protocol of partnership relations' development between Republic of Bashkortostan and the Canton of Freeburg anticipated establishment of relations in sphere of economics, culture and tourism. At present time oil chemistry, machine-building and health protection are considered the main directions of trade-economic cooperation between Bashkortostan and Switzerland. Supplies of chemical products make up the basis of our import to enterprises of "Ufaorgsintez", "Salavatnefteorgsintez" and "Caustic". Upon the totals of seven months the volume of turnover of goods made up 55 millions dollars. Machine-building production makes up the second group of imported goods. Switzerland is found on the tenth place among 90 countries, cooperating with our Republic. Six joint- ventures with participation of Swiss capital are registered on the territory of our Republic, such as "Agidel-Ceramics", "Bashkir- Granite", Ost-West", Poly-Star" and some others and the insurance company "Zurich Insurance Company" works in Ufa too.
Within the frames of further cooperation Bashkortostan plants to resume its work upon business cooperation development with the Canton of Freeburg. Besides, scientific institutions are also ready to cooperate, since Swiss scientists are traditionally keen in biochemistry, biology, agriculture, archeology and other sciences.
Taking into consideration signing of intergovernmental declaration of cooperation in sphere of culture, cultural cooperation may also become a perspective sphere of contacts between Bashkortostan and Switzerland. Swiss side is proposed to discuss the possibility of organization of concert tour of Bashkir State Academic folk dance group and demonstration of movable ethnographic exhibition from collections of National Museum of Bashkortostan in Switzerland.

27.09.04. - 8008 tons of sugar from newly harvested sugar beetroots presently produced at Bashkortostan sugar making plants

At present, 244 ths 835 tons of sugar beetroots have been supplied to Bashkortostan sugar making plants, Bashkortostan Agriculture Ministry reported. The largest quantity of raw beetroots has been supplied to Chishminsk sugar making plant, where 67 ths 98 tons of this technical culture has been delivered to since the beginning of harvesting period, while Meleuzovsk sugar making plant got 63 ths 520 tons of sugar beetroots, Karlamanskiy - 60 ths 334 tons, Rayevskiy - 53 ths 883 tons.
The most intense raw sugar beetroots supplies are made by agriculturists of Aurgazinsk district (nearly 53 ths tons have already been picked up), and also Blagovarsk (over 15 ths tons), Meleuzovsk (nearly 25 ths tons), Karmaskalinsk (over 18,5 ths tons) ans Chekmagushevsk (nearly 17 ths tons) districts. At present, sugar making plants has already processed 68 ths 425 tons of sugar beetroots and produced 8008 tons of sugar.

27.09.04. - Sterlitamac machine-tool plant is known in Astana too

Joint-stock company "Sterlitamac machine-tool plant" (Sterlitamac-M.T.E.) is taking part in International exhibition "The Year of Russia in Kazakhstan-2004", held in the capital of Kazakhstan, Astana, September, 24-30.
Production of many regions of Russian Federation, interesting for Kazakh producers, is demonstrated at the exhibition. Representatives of Sterlitamac plant have brought detailed information about their enterprise into Astana: catalogues, posters and advertising booklets. As it is known, JSC "Sterlitamac-M.T.E" is considered one of the largest machine-tool enterprises in Russia and its production is well-known both in Russia and abroad. The plant designs and produces different lathes and equipment: universal, milling and drilling lathes, including those with programmed numerical control. Advantages of these lathes are quite evident: they are produced in accordance with the latest technologies, small in size and reliable in exploitation and provide high accuracy of part cutting. Besides, these lathes are sold at more accessible prices than foreign analogues.
Along with the machine-tool enterprises, Bashkortostan is also presented by OJSC "Ufimcable" in Astana with examples of its main production.

27.09.04. - Ways of business development in production sphere will be discussed at the interregional conference

Trade-Industry Chamber of Bashkortostan announces the III Interregional conference "Business undertaking in industry: ways of development" will be held in Moscow, November, 17-18. It is held by the Department of support and development of small-scale business.
Representatives of federal, Moscow and regional power branches, responsible for problems of industry development and business undertaking support, profile public organization and professional unions are included in organization committee of this forum.
Participants will exchange opinions in sphere of business undertaking support and development in production sphere. Upon the totals of this meeting recommendations have to be worked out, as well some consolidated solutions. They will contain the list of measures, necessary for development of small and medium-scale business in production sphere-these proposals will be directed to correspondent Moscow and federal power structures.
There are three main subjects of this conference: subcontracts, small-scale business and quality; restructuring of large industrial enterprises.

27.09.04. - Enterprises of Bashkortostan are at the exhibition "Surgut, Oil and Gas-2004"

Such Bashkir companies as "VISMA", "Idel Neftemach" and "Teplogasavtomatika" will become the participants of the exhibition "Surgut, Oil and Gas-2004" to be held in Surgut tomorrow. "Ugorsky contracts", "Surgutbeftegas" and "Surgutgasprom" are its organizers under assistance of Trade-Industry Chamber of RF, Government of Hanty-Mansi autonomous region and administration of Surgut. The list of exhibitors includes 204 enterprises of fuel-power- engineering complex of the country and also from Finland and China.

24.09.04. - Machines manufactured by Tuymazy machine-building plant competitive with foreign analogues

In December this year, one of Bashkortostan leading machine-building enterprises, Russian largest producer of concrete carriers - Tuymazy concrete carriers production plant celebrates its 25th anniversary. Either in technical or in operation factors its machines yield to no foreign analogues. The machines are successfully functioning in all Russia regions as well as in Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Byelorussia, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Lithuania, Latvia, in Eastern European countries, Asia and Middle East. Family of auto concrete mixers produced by the plant is now represented with over 10 models with working load capacity 5 to 10 cubic meters. Enlarged construction of monolith and high-rise buildings ensured machine-builders significant breakthrough in auto concrete pumps production. Currently in Russia, auto concrete pumps with 32 and more meters outriggers are produced exclusively in Tuymazy. It allows Bashkir enterprise to successfully compete in Russia market with such leading European pumps producers as "Putzmeister", "ŃIFA" and "Schwing". Lately, the enterprise has mastered and started manufacturing modern models of auto concrete pumps with concrete conveyer of 21 to 37 meters height and total output of 75 cubic meters per hour. In plans is production of auto concrete pumps with concrete conveyer of 42 to 47 meters height. As for figures and indexes, they are as follows: within the last eight months of 2004, products output totaled 433 mln roubles, 170 per cent growth as per the same period of 2003. Actual volume index totalled 150.6 per cent since the beginning of the year. The enterprise regularly pays salaries, has no arrears to the budget and off-budget funds. In 2004, the enterprise stuff strives to output products in the total amount of over half billion roubles.

23.09.04. - Hydraulics" pins its hopes on mastery of new gas-turbine engine.

Mastery of the auxiliary new generation gas-turbine engine TA- 14 has become one of the most actual tasks for "Hydraulics" and they pin great hopes on realization of this task.
Absence of such engine hampers promotion of new airplanes TU- 204, BE-200 and TU-334 onto the market and gives premises for usage of expensive foreign power units in airplanes of domestic production. Meanwhile, the level of technical parameters, realized in this engine, meets all international requirements, connected with safety of airplanes' exploitation. New engine has by hour fuel input by 33% less than its nearest analogue TA-12-60 and it weights less by 37% or 110 kg.
As General Director of "Hydraulics", Nikolai Puchnin, has said at the conference in "Bashinform" agency, preliminary inspection of design documentation, submitted by the chief developer of TA-14 - JSC "AEROSILA"-has shown they need introduction and mastery of the latest technologies and acquiring of modern imported machine measuring equipment with software and 170 millions rubles are necessary for that. The first sum of investments in amount of 20 millions rubles should be transferred till the end of this year from Republican budget. It is expected realization of this program will allow the plant an essential increase of its commodity output within nearest five years and receiving an additional profit.

22.09.04. - "Stroymach" from Sterlitamac demonstrates new pile-driver unit.

The plant "Stroymach" from Sterlitamac presents its new pile- driver unit today. Its construction was designed on the base of the truck "Ural" and it is meant for driving-in of eighth meter reinforced concrete piles by Diesel hammers.
As the chief designer of the plant, Fedor Sigaev, says, this new pile-driver machine has several advantages: it is equipped by turn-table with retractable mast up to 80 cm. and that permits to drive-in several piles, not moving the unit itself, and pile-driver can be easily transported from one site to another, maximal time of installation is ten minutes and driving-in of one pile lasts six minutes. The aim of this presentation is clear enough - reveal of demand for pile-driving equipment. This production is not a serial and therefore it requires large preliminary work with potential customers..

20.09.04. - Six Bashkir enterprises have entered Top 100 of largest Russian companies upon the sum of paid dividends

Upon the totals of 2003 six Bashkir enterprises have entered Top 100 of largest companies of Russia upon the sum of paid dividends: JSC "Bashkirenergo"-27th place, OJSC "Ufimsky oil- processing plant"-42nd place, OJSC "Ufaneftehim"-60th place, OJSC "Bashneft"-62nd place, JSC "Bashinformsvyaz"-87th place and OJSC "Ufaorgsintez"-99th place.
According to the data of the newspaper "Commersant", "Bashkirenergo" has paid the largest amount of dividends-350 millions 300 thousands and "Ufaorgsintez" paid the most modest sum out-24 millions 800 thousands rubles.
The sum of paid dividends was increased during 2003: "Bashkirenergo" has increased it by 17,5%, "Ufimsky oil-processing plant"-by 10,5%, "Ufaneftehim" and "Ufaorgsintez"-by 10%, "Bashneft"-by 5% and "Bashinformsvyaz"-by 4,9%. Incomes from privileged shares grew faster than those of ordinary shares. Thus, maximal growth of income from privileged shares made up 9,8% ("Bashinformsvyaz") and only 2,8% from ordinary shares ("Bashkirenergo").

14.09.04. - Production of Beloretsk plant of springs will be delivered to Kazakhstan and Ukraine

Contacts for production delivery in different regions of the country and abroad have become the result of participation of the plant of springs from Beloretsk in Ural fair of railroad and road- building machinery "Trunk-Railway-2004", which was held in Nizny Tagil, September, 7-11. Thus, long-term contracts for delivery of springs for cushioning units with the enterprises "Altai Wagon" from Barnaul and "Promtractor-Promli" from Cheboksary were concluded. Springs for bogies of rolling-stock will be also delivered to the plant from Cheboksary. An approximate sum upon these contracts makes up 2-3 millions per month. Besides, contracts with enterprises from Sverdlovsk region, Moscow, Kazakhstan and Ukraine were also concluded.
In all, about 150 enterprises took part in Ural fair "Trunk- Railroad-2004". Along with the Bashkir plant, enterprises of Ukraine, Altai, Moscow, Leningrad, Vladimir, Irkutsk, Perm, Samara and Ryazan regions presented their production in Nizny Tagil.

9.09.04. - Sterlitamacsky plant "STALK" has increased its production of vinegar

Unique workshop upon production of natural 9% vinegar: alcoholic, marinade and apple, functions at the Sterlitamacsky plant "STALK" for more than 30 years. The uniqueness of its production is that vinegar is produced here upon biological technology of fermentation of natural apple juice unlike chemical synthesis, used by other plants.
As it has been reported from the head state unitary enterprise "Bashspirt", which staff includes "STALK", volumes of annually produced apple vinegar steadily grow. For example, during eight months of this year they've produced more than 23 thousands decaliters of vinegar and this is in five thousands decaliters more than for the same period of last year.

7.09.04. - Bashkortostan and Austria developing trade and economic collaboration

On September 7, in Bashkortostan plenipotentiary representative office in Moscow, Russian-Austrian conference on trade and economic collaboration has been held. One of working group of the commission, which embraces 46 Russian regions, is headed by Bashkortostan Deputy Premier, Bashkortostan Finance Minister Airat Gaskarov. Bashkortostan Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative in Moscow Abbas Galliamov has disclosed questions posed and discussed at the conference: "Aim of the Russian-Austrian commission headed by Airat Gaskarov is coordination of efforts of business circles, entrepreneurs from Austria, Bashkortostan and other regions of Russia targeted at mutual trade and economic collaboration. At the conference organized by commission working group, problems faced by both Russian and Austrian businessmen have been touched upon. At the conference, presentations of regional projects are usually done. As heads of Russian-Austrian commission confessed Bashkortostan working group is the most active amongst all the others in the commission. Suffice it to say that three fourth of Russian-Austrian trade and economic projects are done just by this very working group. While delivering his speech to the working group, its co-chairman from Austrian part, Austria General Manager of Ministry of Economics and Labour Johan Zaks noted that demands and capabilities of Russian regions has significantly risen lately. While commission started its work with considering small projects and inquiries come from Russian regions, now it normally deals with large projects and provides assistance with organization of mutual Russian-Austrian high-tech joint ventures. Collaboration between Bashkortostan and Austria has been recently developing fast. Thus, Austrian companies participate in modernization of heating and gas supply lines in Bashkortostan, investing millions dollars into them. Austrian party supplies industrial sewage filtration equipments to Ufaneftehim. Sterlitamak enterprises as well as other Bashkortostan towns and regions have been also intensely cooperating with Austrian companies. As Airat Gaskarov pointed out while making speech at the conference, Russian-Austrian trade turnover grew nearly 20 per cent within last year, and the growth was mostly ensured by regional collaboration. Bashkortostan Finance Minister passed Johan Zaks two toms leaflet with descriptions of Russian-Austrian projects being now carried out and those in plans. In the whole, today conference has proved to be very subject, it has delineated exact mutual trade, economic and industrial projects. Today, our gas and oil industry workers have a lot to be proud of. "Bashneft" joint stock company is amongst Russian leading enterprises by rights. It extracts over 12 mln tons of crude oil a year and insures significant working capacity of crude oil refineries. Developed gas pipe lining system insures natural gas supplies not only to Bashkortostan, but also to European part of Russia, CIS and non-VIS countries. Every year, new gas deposits are researched and exploited, enterprises are reconstructed, chains of social objects have been expanding, and servicing sphere has been improving. The past and the present of oil and gas industry is an outstanding epoch in the history of Bashkortostan. 3.09.04. - Bashkortostan President in Turkey

On September 1-3, 2004 President M. Rakhimov made his working visit to Turkey. In the Turkey Government he had a meeting with Deputy Prime-Minister, Minister of Foreign Affair Abdullah Gul, where problems of bilateral contacts and opening of Bashkortostan representative office in Istanbul were discussed. While meeting with Turkey State Minister Kurshat Tusman, questions and problems of trade and economic collaboration were touched upon. Bashkortostan President pointed out that Turkey is a permanent and large external economic partner of Bashkortostan with trade turnover approximating 40-60 mln US dollars within the last few years, while there are still perspectives for mutual trade volume increase. Rakhimov met Chairman of Board of Russian-Turkish Inter-Parliament Group of Friendship, Chairman of Turkish Group in European organizations, Deputy of Turkey National Parliament Nevzan Yalchyntash. Mr. Nevzan Yalchyntash emphasized that he had kept pleasant memories after visiting Bashkortostan, and singled out that he will assist in opening Bashkortostan representative office in Turkey. Besides, he invited group of Deputies of Bashkortostan State Council - Kurultay, to visit the country for familiarizing with functioning Turkey Parliament. While talking to Bashkortostan President, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Russia in Turkey Mr. P. Stegniy appreciated republic authority’s initiative to establish Bashkortostan representative office in Turkey and expressed willingness of Russian diplomatic and trade representatives to support development contacts between Bashkortostan and Turkey. Thus, he met with President of "Idil" company Jakhid Idil and discussed perspectives of collaboration in construction industry. When talking to heads of “Anadolu Cam Investment BV” company, a part of “Shishejam” concern, President checked implementation of Statement of intensions, concluded between Baskortostan Government and the company as per jointly establishing glass packaging plant in Ufa. The Statement was sighed back in August, 2004, while the concern authorities were visiting Bashkortostan. When staying in Ankara, Bashkortostan President visited Mausoleum of Turkey founder - Mustafa Kemal Ataturka and put a wreath to Mausoleum. On the trip, Deputy Prime-Minister, Plenipotentiary representative of Bashkortostan at Russia President A. Kharisov, and also Bashkortostan representative in Istanbul K. 2.09.04. - Bashkortostan trolleybuses in Kabul streets

Representatives of Kabul administrative structures (Afghanistan) are now visiting Bashkortostan. The aim of their arrival is purchasing trolleybuses for arranging transport traffic in Afghanistan capital. According to the Bashkir trolleybus production plant, Kabul authorities are interested not only in transport means. Today, in Ufa there have been discussed opportunities for Bashkir specialists’ participation in restoring Kabul trolleybus infrastructure. Totally, there were sixty trolleybuses going round Kabul before the war. Guests’ plans are to purchase nearly two hundred trolleybuses from "BTZ" plant. 1.09.04. - Bashkortostan President met Brazil delegation

On September 1, in the House of Republic, Bashkortostan President Murtaza Rakhimov has received delegation of Brazil business circles headed by co-chairman of Russian-Brazil Council on business collaboration - Marcus Pratini de Moreas, influential social and political figure in Latin America, who occupied managing positions in Brazilian Government for long. Delegation has been represented by Head of Economics Department of Brazil Embassy in Russia Federation - Andre Odenbright Karvallio, Director on Governmental Establishments contacts of Brazil affiliate of AGCO company Mario Fioretti, Heads of "Kotio Trading" Eduardo Mangabeira Albernaz, "Aiat Anstalt" company John Maler and others representatives of Brazilian business circles. Delegation is visiting Bashkortostan with the aim of studying opportunities for business collaboration with Bashkir enterprises. In plan is signing Statement on visit results. At the meeting, wide range of problems on bilateral external economic relations has been discussed. The parties pointed out interest in establishing mutually beneficial contacts. Particularly, opportunity for starting plant for AGCO agriculture machines production has been discussed.
